converting latent energy in American Christianity into active energy

Burning Bush Fund One is a program operated on behalf of the Anschutz Foundation and the Buford Foundation.  The goals of the project are to multiply leaders of the American church through teaching churches and planting churches.  The portfolio of projects is designed to serve a variety of denominations, traditions, and approaches so as to cover leadership development needs for as much of America as possible.  At the conclusion of 2003, there were 17 ministries actively involved in the Burning Bush Fund One group.

Although the project does not serve international interests, many of the project participants have international portions of their work.

Burning Bush Fund One works with each project individually to seek to improve their work.  In addition to on-site visits, every project receives individual assistance via phone conferences, e-mail dialogs, or printed correspondence depending on their needs at the time.

In addition, through their co-marketing agreements and arrangements with Church Communication Network, they are able to expand the reach of the projects collectively.

The Burning Bush Fund One is a new way to think about venture investing.  It combines investment, coaching, and peer development in a creative way to extend and improve the individual projects and the group as a whole.  Through the development meetings, BB1 assists the individual projects with technical challenges with group resourcing to help them move to the next level.  Working within a group helps the whole group move ahead at a faster rate.
